Share the Flame

Mnandi Braai Launches “Share The Flame” Initiative to Power Enterprise Development

After a four-year hiatus brought on by the devastating effects of the COVID 19 pandemic, Mnandi Braai has reignited its flame — and it's burning brighter than ever. With its doors reopened and a bold Vision 2027 strategy in motion, Mnandi Braai isn't just making a comeback in the food industry — it's redefining how big brands can support local economies through sustainable enterprise development.

At the heart of this relaunch is the "Share The Flame" initiative, a catalytic enterprise development programme designed to include local SMMEs in the Mnandi Braai value chain. This initiative is more than a gesture of goodwill — it's a strategic commitment to building an ecosystem of local-born suppliers, service providers, and entrepreneurs that grow alongside the brand as it works toward opening 100 stores across South Africa by 2027.

Supporting Entrepreneurs with Real Access
“Share The Flame” takes a hands-on approach to economic inclusion, offering market access and visibility to local small businesses whose products complement the Mnandi Braai offering. From condiments to beverages and beyond, the initiative aims to source from small, Black owned, and local-based enterprises that align with Mnandi's bold flavour and community-first values.

With "Share The Flame", Mnandi Braai proves that recovery isn't just possible — it can be collective

The first beneficiaries of the programme are already making waves:

  • Motsogapele Mango Atchar, a proudly South African brand led by a wife-and-husband duo Mogomotsi and Masego Marwane, has become the first flavour partner selected for store shelves. Their artisanal mango atchar, inspired by traditional recipes and local resilience, is now served as part of the Mnandi Braai customer experience.

  • Giselle Schoeman, a waterpreneur and founder of 4 Rivers Waters, is another trailblazer joining the movement. Her brand of pure spring water is now available as a preferred beverage option at Mnandi Braai — proving that clean, high-quality water can come from local entrepreneurs, not just big bottlers.

More Than Just Food — It's About Fire, Legacy, and Local Growth
Mnandi Braai's "Share The Flame" is built on the belief that small businesses are the engine of job creation, innovation, and community upliftment. By integrating these businesses into its retail model, Mnandi is not just creating suppliers — it's building legacies. With each new location under the Vision 2027 plan, a new set of entrepreneurs will be empowered, allowing the flame to spread — igniting opportunity from one local to the next.

The Road Ahead
Mnandi Braai's relaunch is not just about food — it's about fire: the fire of second chances, of rebuilding after crisis, and of powering futures through local partnerships. As the brand expands, it remains committed to one principle: you can grow your flamewithout dimming someone else's.
